This teaching platform and the clinical practice are two halves of the same work. The lecture explains how deep brain stimulation decisions are reasoned through — patient, phenotype, target, trajectory, lead, field, programming and lifelong follow-up. The practice is where those decisions are made with real patients: brain and spine surgery, movement-disorder surgery and second opinions.
The platform
A structured DBS knowledge platform, not a slide deck
The original fifty-slide lecture is preserved exactly as delivered and forms the backbone of the curriculum. Around each slide sits clearly labelled additional material — expanded study text, anatomy, surgical principles, physiology, imaging, programming logic, clinical pearls, audience questions, case discussions and referenced evidence. Added material is always distinguished from the original slide; the two are never blended.
